Q: What are my advantages to importing through the Pacific Northwest?

A: Washington State is the closest west coast point to the Far East and provides the following advantages over using LA / Long Beach, CA:
  • Reduced on the water transit times, as much as six days
  • No dockside congestion
  • Container turnaround times as short as 45 minutes, dock to our facility
Q: What is a Foreign Trade Zone and how can it impact my business?

A: Foreign Trade Zones were established to facilitate free-trade by designating certain areas of the country as ‘duty-deferred’. Using an FTZ allows an importer of goods to defer duties due U.S. Customs until those goods leave the zone, allows for defined value-added services that may affect duties to be performed in the Zone and provides that goods entering the U.S. through a Zone bound for another country can pass without duties being levied. A White Paper on this subject exists on this site and we encourage you to read it.

Q: What other services do you perform for companies?

Q: What if my shipments are all customer routed, can your shipping department handle theses types of shipments?

We have direct experience meeting all the requirements of modern business, including making customer routed shipments.

Q: My company sells interactive media products with release date driven requirements, can you handle this?

A: We have direct prior experience with release date driven licensed content. Requirements like this exist in the computer and game console software markets, prerecorded video and audio and historically with books. This type of highly scheduled shipping can also be applied from time to time to other consumer goods where ‘leveling’ the retail playing field by date is important as a marketing tool. We have performed this service many times in the past for a variety of client companies.

Q: You maintain facilities in Seattle and Chicago, where will my goods be warehoused and shipped from?

A: Our experienced staff will help determine the most economical distribution points based on a number of qualifying factors. This decision should take into consideration: product point of entry into the supply chain, transit times/cost to the warehouse, knowledge of product distribution based on demographics, cost/transit times to final point of sale, customers ERP system and the ability to manage multiple points of distribution.
